In December of last year Studio 2 were helping Beacon Rise Primary rebrand the school buildings with graphics and creative wall displays to help capture the spirit of the school. This work was carried out whilst the new six class extension was being built which also included a new kitchen and learning space, designed with existing building features and a new entrance to the school offices. The class walls would overlook south Bristol.
With the extension now finished, Studio 2 were called back into action to complete stage 2 of the graphics and signage. The external signage consisted of brushed aluminium built-up lettering fabricated on stand off mounts that were fixed to the external wooden cladding to give the building it's identity. The 'Fern Hill' theme was continued through the inside of the build with lines of poetry cut in vinyl lettering and applied to the walls. Other items included acrylic wall displays with stainless steel wall mounts of the school logo and old photographs of the school in the 1930's and some digitally printed wallpaper to help create some character and charm to the school corridors.
